#3009 Print at Home: Craft Press Printmaking, Jan 23 with Rebecca Chamlee

$ 85.00

This three-hour online class features discussion and demonstrations of a variety of printmaking techniques using a craft die-cutting machine. Also called Craft Presses, some adventurous printmakers have discovered that these roller presses originally designed for craft embossing and die-cutting offer a small, inexpensive and portable alternative to big expensive etching and printing presses.

Common brands of Craft Presses include We R Memory Keepers Evolution Adjustable Die-Cutting and Embossing Machine, Bira Adjustable Cutting and Embossing Machine, Sizzix Big Shot and Big Shot Pro, QuicKutz Epic Six Tabletop Die Cutting & Embossing Machine, Fiskars Fuse Creativity Die Cut Machine and more.

This is an online class. It is a discussion and demonstration. Following the workshop, each student will receive detailed handouts and resource list in the mail. In addition to the resource material, students also receive sample prints of each of the techniques demonstrated during the workshop.

Techniques covered:
•Inking, impression and registration
•Dampened paper
•Relief printing with unmounted linoleum: one-color, reduction and multiple blocks
•Low-relief collagraphs
•Monotypes
•Drypoint Intaglio

Intended Students: Fine artists, designers, painters, printmakers, book artists and non-artists with an interest in learning options for printmaking at home.

Skill level: Knowledge of basic printmaking is helpful, but not mandatory.

This is an online class. Information about participating by zoom will be sent to all participants in advance. This workshop is three hours and all participants will receive a full resource package and sample prints by mail, after the workshop.
