#5033 Boxmaking: Japanese Portfolio, with Anne Covell, Dec 2-3

$ 250.00

In this two-day workshop, students will create a Japanese portfolio box from start to finish. Also known as a hinged case or four-flap enclosure, this versatile structure can be used to house and protect objects such as books, stacks of prints, and photographs. This elegant enclosure consists of five component parts: the base, two inner lids and two outer lids. Using binder's board, bookcloth, and paper, students will learn the techniques required to build cases at home including how to measure, cut, and cover board, create hinges, and attach elegant bone clasp closures.

Students will create cases to house their own unique objects, making these enclosures an elegant addition to a special holiday gift!

Saturday and Sunday, December 2-3 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Fee: $250 plus $40 materials fee
