#2037 - Printing from Polymer Plates, with Annemarie Munn - Nov 15
In this class, you will learn the basics of printing from polymer plates. We will discuss inking, registration, impression, and more. Students who took the Modern Design for Letterpress (Nov. 1) class may bring their own polymer plates, and plates will be provided for students who do not have their own designs ready.
Some prior letterpress experience (such as a Type Slam or Intro Class) is highly recommended for this fast-paced, hands-on class.
This class can be taken alone, or with Modern Design Basics for Letterpress (Nov. 1)
Fee: $75, plus a materials fee of $10
Enrollment is limited to 6 students
About your instructor:
Annemarie Munn is the owner/main press operator of Ladybones Print Shop. While growing up in rural Northern California, she was lucky enough to live in a house replete with broadsides and chapbooks both letterpress and otherwise, mostly poetry, mostly printed in the Bay Area during the 1960s and 1970s.
Although she spent years in academia studying philosophy and creative writing, in late 2008 Annemarie finally gave in to the siren call of ink and paper, and was lucky enough to begin her printing career as an intern with the San Francisco Center for the Book's Imprint division, where her first project was to print the Small Plates edition of Reparations, an accordion book by former Black Panther Minister of Culture Emory Douglas. See more of her work on her website.
