#8011 Japanese Book Arts Intensive, with Anne Covell - May 21-24
Students in the 4-day intensive will have the opportunity to create a set of Japanese bound books from start to finish. We will begin by making our own paper using traditional Nagashizuki methods and then decorate the paper we made through brush and dip dyeing, shibori, and momigami techniques. Next, we will use our handmade decorative papers to create cover papers for use in binding three traditional Japanese books. Finally, we will create a two-flap Japanese portfolio to house our books and to tie together the work we produced into an elegant, finished product.
Registration for the 4-day intensive: $500 plus a $100 materials fee. This includes a discount from the $155 per class fee and an additional discount on materials fees.
