Letterpress Open Studio

BookArtsLA at the 10th Annual Los Angeles Printers Fair

Plan now to visit BookArtsLA's booth at the 10th Annual Los Angeles Printer's Fair. The event features over 80 Artists, printmakers, bookmakers, purveyor of beautiful cards, prints, books, type and everything associated with letterpress, printing and books.  This year's fair has been expanded to two days, Saturday and Sunday October 13th and 14th from 10 am to 4 pm each day. Transforming Paper in our workshop "Folded Accordingly" with Rhiannon Alpers

Who knew that folded paper could be this sophisticated? The accordion or concertina binding is one of the initial forms that we learn in introductions to book binding. In the March 17 workshop, visiting artist Rhiannon Alpers will teach several intriguing book structures.  Included in this workshop will be the Winged Accordion, Triangle Pocket Accordion and Designating duet (which is a Claire Von Vliet Interwoven structure). We'll cover a wide range of possibilities for these structures.
